Islamabad: In a significant legal move, the Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has taken action against the rejection of his nine bail petitions by the Islamabad High Court (IHC).
This development comes as the PTI chairman’s lawyer, Salman Safdar, submitted the petitions to the IHC, seeking to overturn the decisions that led to the bail refusals.
Of the nine bail applications in question, six were dismissed by the Sessions Court, while three faced rejection from the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC).
The PTI’s legal representative has appealed to the IHC to reconsider the cases on their merits and, notably, to intervene in preventing the police from apprehending the PTI chairman in connection with the ongoing legal matters.
Separately, Bushra Bibi, the wife of the PTI chairman, has taken a separate legal route by appealing to the Supreme Court (SC) to address the deteriorating health conditions of her husband during his incarceration at Attock jail. Following her visit to Attock Jail on August 22, where she had the opportunity to meet her husband, Bushra Bibi submitted an affidavit via Advocate Hamid Khan. The affidavit formally expresses concerns about the declining health of Imran Khan, highlighting the need for timely attention to his well-being.
