PTI will announce PM candidate by Thursday: Barrister Gohar

Islamabad: In a bold declaration, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Barrister Gohar Ali Khan has asserted that the party has secured an impressive 180 seats from across the nation in the recent elections and is poised to announce its prime ministerial candidate by Thursday.

Addressing the media in Islamabad alongside other party leaders, Barrister Gohar Ali Khan highlighted PTI’s electoral triumph, noting victories in all three National Assembly seats in Islamabad and four in Balochistan. He further stated significant wins in NA 115 in Punjab, 16 in Sindh, and 42 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, underscoring the widespread support garnered by PTI.

Expressing concern over alleged attempts to induce party members to switch sides with offers ranging from Rs100 to Rs250 million, Barrister Gohar Ali Khan reiterated the party’s stance on respecting the people’s mandate, emphasizing that the source of power lies with the electorate.

Moreover, PTI leader Ali Zafar revealed that he recently met with PTI founder and former prime minister Imran Khan to discuss political strategies. Imran Khan, according to Zafar, emphasized the awakened spirit of the nation and instructed party leaders to initiate negotiations with various parties for government formation, including the selection of the prime minister, chief ministers, and National Assembly speaker.

Notably, Imran Khan directed party leaders to engage in negotiations with all parties except Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, Pakistan People’s Party, and Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan. This directive underscores PTI’s commitment to exploring coalition options while maintaining a principled stance on certain political affiliations.

In addition, PTI announced plans to conduct intra-party elections within 10 days, signaling a commitment to democratic processes and transparency within the party. Barrister Gohar Ali Khan emphasized that the Election Commission of Pakistan would be expected to duly recognize and accept the outcome of these elections, further solidifying PTI’s commitment to democratic norms and values.
