DUBAI: Rawalpindi Medical University (RMU) is set to celebrate its Golden Jubilee with a grand event at the Pakistan Association Dubai’s multipurpose hall on November 18.
RMU aims to celebrate its role in the last 50 years in providing quality education and career growth in healthcare.
The RMU Golden Jubilee event will host numerous renowned doctors from Pakistan and abroad, healthcare business owners, and CEOs of several renowned hospitals from all seven emirates of the UAE.
Organised by Dr Syed Hasnain Johar, RMU also promises that the event will be one-of-a-kind
with special souvenirs from the core team for all attendees present. Essentially, the event will
offer medical professionals, the chance to create meaningful connections with their extensive footfall.
The RMU Golden Jubilee event is designed to cater to a wide variety of healthcare professionals, such as doctors and nurses from numerous renowned healthcare organisations, both internationally and within the United Arab Emirates.
The organisers have chosen PAD, on Oud Metha Road in Dubai, to conduct the event. The multipurpose hall boasts a 750-seating capacity, with a technologically advanced multimedia and lighting systems to provide the attendees with a truly immersive experience.
Rawalpindi Medical University is ranked among the top 10 universities in Pakistan as per Higher Education Commission’s recent rankings. RMU was established in Faisalabad on 18th March 1974 and later shifted to Rawalpindi on 5th November 1974 in an incomplete building at Tipu Road (Science Block of Gordon College, Rawalpindi).
Prof Mohammad Nawaz, the second principal of RMU, and Prof Mohammad Iqbal, a professor of surgery and later principal, played a pivotal role as the first pioneer team to establish an all-encompassing RMC (Rawalpindi Medical College).
The pioneering faculty worked hard to establish a recognised and accredited centre of excellence in medical education. Utilising evidence-based training techniques for developing highly competent health professionals is also the RMU vision.
