Rawalpindi: Pakistani security forces successfully thwarted a brazen attack on the Gwadar Port Authority (GPA) colony by a group of armed assailants. According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the military’s media wing, security personnel promptly engaged the attackers, resulting in a fierce exchange of fire that led to the elimination of all eight terrorists.
The ISPR’s statement commended the rapid response of the security forces, highlighting their effective engagement with the terrorists. The successful operation not only neutralized the threat but also resulted in the recovery of a substantial quantity of arms, ammunition, and explosives from the attackers.
Tragically, two brave soldiers, Sepoy Bahar Khan and Sepoy Imran Ali, made the ultimate sacrifice during the encounter. Both soldiers, hailing from districts DG Khan and Khairpur respectively, demonstrated unwavering courage and dedication in defending against the assailants. Their sacrifice serves as a poignant reminder of the risks faced by Pakistan’s security forces in safeguarding peace and stability in Balochistan.
The ISPR reiterated Pakistan’s steadfast commitment to countering attempts to disrupt peace in the region, emphasizing that the sacrifices of brave soldiers like Sepoy Bahar Khan and Sepoy Imran Ali only strengthen the resolve of the nation and its security forces.
Eyewitnesses reported hearing multiple explosions and gunfire during the attack, which targeted the Gwadar Port Authority colony housing various government offices, including the passport office and the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) office. The swift response of the security forces prevented further escalation of the situation and ensured the safety of civilians in the vicinity.
