Terrorists killed during IBO in Dera Ismail Khan

Rawalpindi: Security forces in Dera Ismail Khan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, successfully neutralized two terrorists involved in target killings and extortion. The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) reported that an intelligence-based operation (IBO) was conducted in response to reports of terrorist presence in the area on Sunday, April 28.

During the operation in Dera Ismail Khan, a fierce exchange of fire erupted between the security forces and the militants, leading to the elimination of Faheem Nawaz alias Gandapuri and Mohsin Nawaz, both known for their involvement in various terrorist activities. The ISPR confirmed that weapons, ammunition, and explosives were recovered from the slain terrorists, underscoring the gravity of their threat.

Furthermore, a sanitization operation is underway to ensure the complete elimination of any remaining terrorists in the area. The ISPR reiterated the unwavering determination of Pakistan’s security forces to eradicate the scourge of terrorism from the country, prioritizing the safety and security of civilians.

This operation comes amidst a heightened state of alertness against militancy in Pakistan, with security forces actively engaged in thwarting terrorist activities. Just a day prior, security forces in Balochistan’s Harnai district encountered and neutralized a terrorist while injuring another in a swift response to an attempted interception of civilian vehicles on Sanjavi Road.

The decisive actions of the security forces reflect Pakistan’s commitment to maintaining peace and stability in the face of mounting terrorist threats.
