Young Pakistani Quran reciter Shines at Int’l Competition

A Pakistani Quran reciter, Ten-year-old Muhammad Bashar from Swat, has achieved remarkable recognition on the global stage by securing fourth place in the prestigious international Quran recitation competition, “Mazamir Dawood,” held in Algeria.

The competition, organized by the Algerian private media outlet Echorouk, took place from August 18 to 31 and drew participants from over 15 countries. Bashar’s exceptional performance has not only brought honor to his country but also highlighted the deep cultural and spiritual connections between Pakistan and Algeria.

Bashar’s impressive fourth-place finish earned him a prize of $1,500. This annual event, hosted by Echorouk, celebrates the talents of young Quran reciters from around the world and is supported by the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Endowments of Algeria under the patronage of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune.

The achievement of this young Pakistani reciter underscores the rich tradition of Quranic recitation in Pakistan and the country’s continued commitment to fostering and showcasing its spiritual heritage on the international stage.
