The Ministry of Interior of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan has officially confirmed the apprehension of approximately 40 members of the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) over the past year. This marks the first public acknowledgment of such arrests by Afghan authorities.
According to spokesperson Abdul Mateen Qani, “We have a large number of ISIS prisoners, and about 35 to 40 TTP terrorists are in our custody.” The successful capture of these TTP operatives was reportedly made possible through intelligence shared by Pakistan, revealing the clandestine locations of the terrorists.
