Rawalpindi: In a significant show of solidarity and unwavering support for the people of Jammu and Kashmir, Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar ul Haq Kakar, Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, and Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Gen Syed Asim Munir visited Muzaffarabad. The leaders laid a floral wreath at the Martyrs’ Monument, honoring the supreme sacrifices of Shuhada, and acknowledged the remarkable resilience of Kashmiris in the face of continued brutality by Indian occupation forces in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
In a joint statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the leadership expressed deep concern over the brewing humanitarian and security crises in IIOJK, emphasizing that it poses a serious threat to regional peace and stability. They reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to standing with Kashmiris in their just struggle for the inalienable right to self-determination, as outlined in the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) resolutions.
The leaders condemned India’s attempts to change the demographic composition of IIOJK through illegal administrative measures and draconian laws, stating that such machinations cannot suppress the Kashmiri people’s will to attain their legitimate objectives.

During the visit, COAS Gen Syed Asim Munir was briefed on the latest situation along the Line of Control (LOC), commending the operational readiness, high morale, and effective response of Pakistani troops to Indian Ceasefire Violations (CFVs). Addressing the troops, the COAS reiterated Pakistan’s resolve to respond with full national and military might to any aggression or violation of territorial sovereignty.
Highlighting concerns over Indian state-sponsored terrorism in Pakistan, the COAS emphasized that such actions, including heinous targeting of individual Pakistani citizens, violate international law and norms. He noted that many countries around the world are openly calling out India, exposing its questionable credentials.
The COAS concluded by stating that Pakistan would continue to expose all such attempts and ensure the security of its citizens. The visit reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to supporting the Kashmiri cause and maintaining readiness to counter any threats to its sovereignty.
The COAS was warmly received by Commander Rawalpindi Corps upon his arrival, underscoring the importance of the visit in assessing the security situation in the region.
