PM Kakar Strongly Condemns Indian Atrocities on Kashmir Solidarity Day

Muzaffarabad: Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar expressed strong condemnation for India’s actions in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu & Kashmir (IIOJK) during his address to the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly on Kashmir Solidarity Day.

In his speech, PM Kakar labeled India as a terrorist state, accusing it of committing severe atrocities against the innocent people of IIOJK for decades. He expressed regret that the world remained silent on India’s state terrorism in the region.

PM Kakar emphasized that India had been presenting a false narrative for years, incorrectly labeling the indigenous movement of Kashmiris for freedom as terrorism. He clarified that there is a clear distinction between terrorism and the people’s struggle for independence.

Addressing the Indian leadership’s claims about Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu & Kashmir, PM Kakar warned India against having any illusions and stressed Pakistan’s commitment to peace. He asserted that while Pakistan seeks peace, it is fully capable of responding forcefully to any misadventure on its soil.

The prime minister called on India to grant the people of Kashmir their just right to self-determination and demanded the restoration of basic human rights in IIOJK. He urged India to cease human rights violations, release political prisoners, and remove heavy military presence from Kashmiri villages and towns. PM Kakar called for allowing peaceful gatherings and unrestricted access to observers from the UN, OIC, international media, and human rights organizations to IIOJK.

PM Kakar strongly denounced India’s actions of August 5, 2019, as illegal and a violation of international laws, including the UN Charter, 4th Geneva Convention, and relevant UN Security Council resolutions. He accused India of attempting to alter the demographic structure and political landscape of the held Valley.

Highlighting the significance of Kashmir Solidarity Day, PM Kakar reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering support for the Kashmiri people’s just struggle for self-determination. He stated that a lasting solution to the Jammu and Kashmir dispute must align with UN Security Council resolutions and the wishes of the Kashmiri people.

The caretaker prime minister concluded by pledging Pakistan’s continued moral, diplomatic, and political support for the Kashmiri cause. His address was delivered on an occasion that annually observes Kashmir Solidarity Day across Pakistan, expressing solidarity with the Kashmiris and paying tribute to their sacrifices over the last 76 years. PM Kakar received a guard of honor upon his arrival at the AJK Legislative Assembly.
