Former CM Usman Buzdar quits politics

LAHORE: Former Punjab chief minister Usman Buzdar added to a long list of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf deserters when on Friday he also quit politics.

A host of PTI leaders from almost all parts of the country have bid goodbye to the Imran Khan-led party, with some even quitting politics altogether, in recent days.

“First of all, I condemn the May 9 incidents. The military installations which were targeted were properties of the state of Pakistan and I believe we should avoid such incidents,” Buzdar said while addressing a press conference.

“I have always committed to politics of nobility […] but due to the current circumstances, I have decided to quit politics,” the former chief minister said.

Several leaders and lawmakers, including Fawad Chaudhry, Shireen Mazari, Aamir Mehmood Kiani, Malik Amin Aslam, Mahmood Moulvi, Aftab Siddiqui, Fayyazul Hassan Chohan, Ali Zaidi and Imran Ismail among others, have quit PTI after condemning the May 9 incidents that occurred after Imran Khan was arrested in the Al Qadir Trust case from the Islamabad High Court premises on NAB orders.
