Severe storms have thrown Dubai International Airport into disarray, forcing a temporary halt to its operations. The heavy rains have wreaked havoc across the region, causing floods in the UAE and Bahrain, and claiming 18 lives in Oman.
The chaos led to the cancellation of 26 flights to Pakistan from Dubai, leaving many travelers stranded. Flights like PIA’s PK-203, PK-204, and PK-185, along with SereneAir’s ER-1723 and ER-1724 faced significant delays, leaving passengers frustrated.
Emirates flights EK-622 and EK-623 between Dubai and Lahore were also affected, experiencing delays of several hours. Airblue’s PA-416 and PA-411 flights encountered similar setbacks.

A spokesperson for Dubai Airports explained that inbound flights were being diverted due to the ongoing severe weather, with a focus on safety until conditions improve. Departures, however, are continuing, albeit with caution.
