Imran Khan’s Assets Surge by Over Rs277 Million in Past Five Years

Islamabad: Former chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Imran Khan’s assets increased in the past five years, as outlined in the nomination papers recently submitted to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).

In 2018, Imran Khan’s assets were valued at Rs38.69 million, and the recent papers disclose a remarkable surge, bringing his total assets to Rs315.91 million in 2023. The rise in assets is attributed to various sources, including an inherited house in Zaman Park, Lahore, and 300 kanals of gifted land in Bani Gala, Islamabad.

Imran Khan invested Rs48.6 million in the construction of the Zaman Park house and spent Rs3.9 million on its maintenance and regularization in Bani Gala. The nomination papers also detail additional assets, such as 6 kanals 16 marlas of land in Mehra Noor, Islamabad, a shop in the capital’s shopping plaza valued at more than Rs120 million, and a two-room flat in Islamabad’s plaza worth more than Rs30.40 million.

Further disclosures include inherited 188 kanals of land in Bhakkar and 698 kanals of land in Pakpattan and Dipalpur under his wife, Bushra Bibi’s name. She also owns a three-kanal house in Bani Gala.

Imran Khan’s financial portfolio comprises over Rs31.5 million in cash, more than Rs60 million in various bank accounts, and assets from Tosha Khana valued at Rs11.87 million. Despite his prominent public role, he does not own any vehicles but possesses four goats valued at Rs0.2 million.

Imran Khan’s declared educational qualification is a Bachelor’s degree in political science, and his current occupation is listed as a philanthropist. His assets declaration to the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) stood at Rs141.6 million in 2021 and has now surged to Rs315.9 million in 2023, marking a notable increase over the past two years.
