Islamabad: The Pakistani government revealed that petrol price will remain steady until January 15, 2024. The decision, effective from January 1, 2024, aims to provide a sense of economic stability to citizens as the nation faces ongoing challenges.
As per the announcement made on Sunday, the petrol price will stay unchanged at Rs267.34 per litre, and diesel will maintain its current rate of Rs276.21 for the next two weeks. The alterations in fuel prices will be in effect until the upcoming bi-weekly evaluation that spans various cities, including Lahore, Islamabad, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Faisalabad, Rawalpindi, Multan, and Karachi.

Amidst these developments, kerosene oil witnesses a price reduction of Rs2.19, now priced at Rs188.83. Conversely, the price of light diesel oil experiences an increase of Rs1.11, bringing it to Rs165.75.
This strategic decision by the government comes on the heels of a challenging year in 2023 when Pakistan confronted a historic surge in petrol prices. The cost per litre reached an unprecedented peak of Rs331, causing significant concerns among the populace. The government’s commitment to maintaining stability in fuel prices is seen as a proactive measure to alleviate financial burdens on citizens and foster economic equilibrium.
