Multi-National Special Forces Exercise “Eternal Brotherhood-II” Commences in Barotha

Rawalpindi – The grand opening ceremony of the multi-national special forces exercise “Eternal Brotherhood-II” has marked the commencement of an intensive two-week training program in Barotha. Special forces contingents from Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Qatar, Turkiye, and Uzbekistan have gathered to participate in this high-stakes exercise aimed at fostering collaboration and enhancing military capabilities.

A press release from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) highlighted the significance of this event, emphasizing the strong military-to-military relations among these friendly nations. The exercise seeks to nurture a joint employment concept while identifying mutual interests for future military collaborations, drawing on each other’s valuable experiences in countering terrorism.

During the opening ceremony, Chief of Army Staff Gen Syed Asim Munir visited the Barotha garrison and personally interacted with the participating special forces units. He was briefed on the exercise’s scope and conduct by the General Officer Commanding Special Service Group.

“The exercise is aimed at further harnessing the historic military-to-military relations among the friendly countries, including nurturing the joint employment concept, while identifying areas of mutual interest for future military collaborations and benefiting from each other’s experience against terrorism,” stated the ISPR.

Before arriving in Barotha, Gen Syed Asim Munir also made a visit to the Junior Leadership Academy (JLA) Shinkiari, renowned as the center of excellence for training non-commissioned officers. At the academy, he paid tribute to the sacrifices of the fallen soldiers by laying a floral wreath at Yadgaar e Shuhada and addressed the academy’s participants.

The COAS underscored the pivotal role of junior leaders within the Pakistan Army, describing them as the backbone of the force. He praised their exceptional professionalism and leadership qualities, stating, “Our standard of professionalism and leadership is par excellence compared to any modern army in the world. Junior leaders of the Pakistan Army have proven their mettle in the fields of training, operations, and world-class competitions across the globe.”

Upon his arrival at the Junior Leadership Academy and Barotha, Gen Syed Asim Munir was warmly received by the Inspector General Training and Evaluation.
