NSC decided to form Central Apex Committee and activate NACTA

Islamabad: The National Security Committee has decided to form an Apex Committee at the central level under the chairmanship of the Prime Minister on the increasing incidents of unrest in Swat and other parts of the country and to fully activate NACTA.

An important meeting of the National Security Committee under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif was held at the Prime Minister House on Friday, in which, apart from federal ministers, service chiefs, heads of sensitive institutions and other senior officials participated.

In the statement issued by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, it is stated that the meeting took a detailed review of the overall law and order situation in the country, the relevant authorities also briefed the participants on the law and order situation.

In the national security meeting, the role of all the law enforcement agencies including the Pakistan Army, Rangers, and Police for the establishment of peace and security in the country and for the security and defense of the dear motherland was appreciated and the officers and soldiers who were martyred for this great cause. Great tributes were paid.

The participants greeted the families of the martyrs and acknowledged that the martyrs have created great stories of bravery and bravery for the country and nation. It was reiterated that the sacrifices of the martyrs will not go in vain.

It was decided in the meeting that the nation and the state institutions are one voice for the protection of life and property of the citizens, the protection of the geographical integrity of Pakistan, the rule of law and the rule of law. The entire nation is not only united and single-minded on these goals, but also determined to ensure their attainment at all costs.

In the important meeting of the National Security Committee, the incidents of disrupting law and order in some parts of the country, including Swat, were reviewed and Fatiha was recited for the dead while expressing condolences to the affected families.

The meeting made it clear that the blood of every citizen of Pakistan is very precious and the law will deal strictly with anyone involved in shedding it. The citizens along with their brave soldiers have made unprecedented sacrifices and played a historic role in the war against terrorism.

According to the declaration, it was decided to form the Apex Committee at the central level under the chairmanship of the Prime Minister, while it was also decided to activate the Anti-Terrorism Agency (NACTA) and make it a provincial-level Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD). will work through the collaborative process.

The meeting also decided to revitalize the anti-terrorism system at the federal and provincial levels. By reviewing it, steps should be identified so that the system can be developed on more effective lines and the process of continuous improvement continues.

According to the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the National Security Committee approved effective measures to foolproof the security of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects. In this regard, NACTA will be responsible for implementation while the implementation will be done through the provinces.

The meeting also decided that the anti-terrorism system should be equipped with modern technology and the system would be upgraded as per the need to ensure the supply of resources while measures would also be taken to increase efficiency.

Member of National Assembly Mohsin Dawar, leader of Awami National Party Mian Iftikhar Hussain also participated in the meeting.
