Lahore: President Dr. Arif Alvi had an important meeting with Chairman Tehreek-e-Insaf Imran Khan in which matters of mutual interest including elections and the economic situation of the country were discussed. While the Election Commission was criticized for not giving the date of the elections.

According to leading news, in the meeting between the two leaders, the implications of the letter sent by the President to the Election Commission of Pakistan regarding the duration of the elections were discussed.

In the meeting, it was agreed that in case of dissolution of the legislature, the constitution sets a deadline of 90 days for elections, failure to hold elections during the constitutional period is tantamount to clear deviation from the constitution, in case of deviation, the constitution itself would give clear instructions. Is. Besides, in the meeting, it is necessary to get the country out of political and economic crises, it was also agreed to implement the purpose of the Constitution.

Imran Khan said that the Quaid-e-Azam was the founder of the Constitution, that is why the foundation of our state is the Constitution of Pakistan. The Objectives Resolution clearly states that the sovereignty belongs only to Allah Almighty. The State of Pakistan will use this sacred trust through the elected representatives of the people.

Chairman PTI said that deviating from the constitutional period in the elections is tantamount to shaking the foundation of the state. The entire nation is looking towards the judiciary to protect the constitution. It is a constitutional requirement to hold elections within 90 days. Deviation will be a violation of Article 6.
