Shangla attack Perpetrators will be brought to justice: Zardari

In the aftermath of a devastating Shangla attack targeting Chinese nationals, President Asif Ali Zardari has pledged swift action to bring the perpetrators to justice. In a poignant display of solidarity, President Zardari visited the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China, offering heartfelt condolences on behalf of Pakistan.

The President, accompanied by officials, was warmly received by Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan, Jiang Zaidong. During their meeting, President Zardari condemned the cowardly act of terrorism, emphasizing Pakistan’s unwavering support for China in this challenging time.

Expressing determination to combat terrorism, President Zardari assured the Chinese envoy of Pakistan’s commitment to apprehending those responsible for the heinous attack. He reiterated Pakistan’s dedication to ensuring the safety and security of Chinese citizens engaged in various projects across the country.

In response, Ambassador Zaidong commended Pakistan’s resolute stance against terrorism and the outpouring of support from all sectors of Pakistani society. Stressing the significance of cooperation in counter-terrorism efforts, the ambassador emphasized the need for heightened security measures to safeguard Chinese workers in Pakistan.

Amidst somber reflections, President Zardari penned his sentiments in the visitor’s book, denouncing the Shangla attack as an assault on the enduring friendship between Pakistan and China. He affirmed Pakistan’s steadfast resolve to thwart the designs of those seeking to sow discord and chaos.

The recent attack claimed the lives of five Chinese citizens and a Pakistani driver, underscoring the urgent need for concerted action against terrorism.
