3rd ODI: New Zealand won the series by defeating Pakistan

Karachi: New Zealand defeated Pakistan by 2 wickets in the third ODI to clinch the series 1-2.

In the third and final match of the one-day series played at the National Stadium, Karachi, New Zealand achieved the target of 281 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in the 49th over.

For New Zealand, Glenn Phillips scored 63 runs off 42 balls with the help of 4 sixes and 4 fours.
Skipper Kane Williamson was dismissed for 53 and Devon Conway for 52. Daryl Mitchell returned to the pavilion after scoring 31 runs.

On behalf of Pakistan, Salman Agha and Muhammad Wasim took 2, 2 wickets while Muhammad Nawaz and Osama Mir took 1, 1 wicket.

Earlier, winning the toss and batting first, Pakistan scored 280 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in the allotted 50 overs.

Initially, the performance of Pakistan batsmen was disappointing. Opener Shan Masood Safar, while captain Babar Azam returned to the pavilion after scoring 4 runs, after two wickets fell on a total score of 21, Fakhiz Zaman and Muhammad Rizwan established a partnership of 153 runs, but Rizwan lost his wicket by scoring 77 runs, Fakhr Zaman scored 101 runs and ran. Haris Sohail was also run out after scoring 22 runs.

Agha Salman played an important innings of 45 runs, but he could not complete his half-century and was caught out trying to throw the ball out of bounds.

For New Zealand, Southee took 3 wickets, Lockie Ferguson took 2 wickets while Mitchell Bracewell and Ish Sodhi took one wicket each. Fakhar Zaman and Haris Sohail were run out.
