SC to hear case for simultaneous polls across country today

Islamabad: The Supreme Court has fixed the case related to holding general elections of national and provincial assemblies together for hearing.

According to Leading News, the case related to holding general elections of National and Provincial Assemblies across the country is under hearing in the court, in which the major political parties of the country have also been summoned to know their stand.

A three-member bench of the Supreme Court will hear the case today at 11:30 am. The bench will be headed by a three-member bench headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Umar Atta Bandial.

On the other hand, the Supreme Court issued a written order for the hearing held on April 27. According to which the negotiation on behalf of the political parties is their own effort, the Supreme Court has not issued any directive to any political party.

The written order said that the Supreme Court’s order to hold elections on May 14 remains in place. The court appreciates the voluntary efforts of the political parties to reach an agreement.
