Rawalpindi: Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Seyed Abbas Araghchi, met with Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), on Monday at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a press release.
The meeting focused on constructive discussions surrounding the evolving geo-strategic environment, with particular emphasis on the security challenges faced by both Pakistan and Iran. The two sides also reviewed the Pak-Iran border security mechanism as part of their ongoing efforts to enhance bilateral coordination and ensure peace in the border regions.

General Munir reaffirmed the deep-rooted relationship between Pakistan and Iran, describing the two as brotherly neighbours connected through shared history, cultural values, and religious bonds. He emphasized the importance of continued engagement and mutual cooperation to overcome regional challenges and promote peace and development.

Both parties agreed to maintain regular dialogue and work closely to support initiatives aimed at ensuring regional stability and addressing common security concerns.
