National karate player Arzoo Haider Ali passes away after road accident

Quetta: National karate player Arzoo Haider Ali passed away at a private hospital on Wednesday after sustaining critical injuries in a road accident last week, officials confirmed.

According to the Balochistan sports secretary Durra Baloch, Arzoo had been admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU) with severe head injuries after falling from a scooty on Saturday.

She was on her way to participate in a karate championship at the Ayub Sports Complex when the accident occurred.

Arzoo had represented Balochistan in multiple competitions and secured gold and silver medals at the National Games, earning recognition as a promising athlete.

Earlier, Durra Baloch had visited the hospital on the instructions of Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti to inquire about her condition and meet her family.

During the visit, the provincial government assured full support for her treatment, stating that the Sports Department remained in close coordination with the family to ensure the best possible medical care.

Her death has been met with grief in the sporting community, with officials acknowledging her contributions to karate in the province.
