ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and Kuwait have agreed to further strengthen bilateral cooperation across a range of key sectors during delegation-level talks held in Islamabad on Wednesday.
The understanding was reached during a meeting between Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Kuwait’s Foreign Minister.
Both sides agreed to expand cooperation in areas of mutual interest, including trade, investment, energy, defence, information technology and other sectors.
The two ministers reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing high-level exchanges and institutional collaboration to further deepen the longstanding brotherly relations between Pakistan and Kuwait.
According to the Foreign Office, the two sides also pledged to maintain close coordination on regional and international issues of mutual interest.
During the meeting, the Kuwaiti foreign minister appreciated Pakistan’s hospitality and acknowledged the country’s support during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The discussions also covered the evolving situation in the Middle East and Palestine, with the Kuwaiti side appreciating Pakistan’s constructive role in promoting regional peace and stability.
Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to further strengthening its enduring partnership with Kuwait across all areas of mutual interest.
